Ritual House opens in Downtown Pittsburgh's Union Trust Building

The Pittsburgh native learned simple, honest cooking from his grandma, who ran a catering business out of a fire hall in Reserve. Drink and food ideas have come from places the couples have traveled. The endeavor is the couples’ “love letter to Pittsburgh” Ricky Kirsop said in a statement.

The menu will feature salads such as a Waldorf chicken salad with bib lettuce, honey candied walnuts, plumped cranberries, honey lime crème fraiche, and candied frozen champagne grapes. A few of the dishes might be familiar to diners as they are from Coast & Main Seafood & Chophouse in Monroeville, which the couples also own. There are plans for a second location of Coast & Main coming to East Liberty. Michelle Kirsop said it was important to pay attention to every detail when designing the restaurant and the menu. The goal was to entice all of the senses while creating a welcoming atmosphere, she said. Being able to gather for such happy times for a drink or meal in a place that feels like home is the inspiration behind the name of the newest restaurant in Downtown Pittsburgh – Ritual House.

Yap said she's heard whispers of people moving to Discord and Twitch, but these platforms don't have short-form video people can endlessly scroll like TikTok does. TikToker Cassandra Marie, for example, called Clapper the "new TikTok" and praised the app's growth potential, as well as the nostalgic feel of being like TikTok in its early days. It's unclear if such AI tools would convince Gen Z to scroll on Instagram and use it more often. However, Sophie Lund-Yates, from Hargreaves Lansdown, told the BBC that Meta's "substantial investment" in AI has helped it get people to spend time on its platforms. It is hard to make sweeping statements about any generation, especially one that spans the ages of 12 to 27, but a mass exodus of the ones who use TikTok to Meta's photo app is unlikely, they said. "The TikTok ban bill was just passed in the House, which is a bummer," she said.

The wine list leans heavy into California, and the draft beer list is quite small with the likes of Miller Lite and Yuengling (plus a few bottle options with one or two local choices). The dining areas and bar span multiple floors- our table was in the level closest to the door. We've always thought this space was awkward, even when previous restaurants were in this space. We think it kind of feels like a hotel lobby or a place you should be walking through to get somewhere else with the rest of the restaurant disconnected from the area.

Owners also collaborated with the design team of Tracy Delisio and Taylor Schaffron from Next Architecture and Bill Krowinski of Bootstrap Design, both local companies. The menu advertises that the platter is for 2-4 people, but the portion is probably closer to two people with healthy appetites. I say this because after you try some of these components, you’ll want to go back for seconds and will be disappointed if they’re not there. Each dish is portioned on a smaller, puzzle-piece-shaped dish for sharing. This one was flavored with miso and orange in a poke broth, with spinach, daikon, and carrots.

Edwin and Amanda Smith now run the back and front of the house, as executive chef and general manager, respectively. The restaurant opened Feb. 26 in Downtown’s Union Trust Building, in the space once occupied by Union Standard, which closed in June 2020. The Kirsops run Coast & Main, a stellar seafood and chophouse at The District at Monroeville Mall.

Instagram is "boring, exhausting, and generally not fun" compared with TikTok, Farah said, which boomed during the pandemic and quickly became her most-used social media platform. But Gen Zers who spoke with BI said social media platforms all have different purposes, and they doubt Instagram can capture the magic of scrolling on TikTok. Side dishes include BBQ sweet potato with whipped Mascarpone and new pasta offerings such as lobster macaroni and cheese.

We invite you to make Ritual House your sanctuary, and create your own rituals — whether that’s toasting major moments or gathering with people you love — here, in our house. New entrees include Asian-inspired fried chicken piled high on the plate atop a fresh Asian slaw and drizzled with Szechuan syrup. The sous vide beef short rib has a Burgundy wine demi-glace, pearl onions, carrots, and Parmesan grits. At the full-service bar, hand crafted, hand shaken cocktails using all with fresh ingredients are served.

The fish was cooked to juicy perfection, we just thought that the broth was also intensely sweet and, in our opinion, it overpowered the fish. We also weren't expecting the spinach, daikon, and carrots to be raw and served as a sort of salad in the broth. The weekend brunch menu features items such as lemon meringue pancakes, cinnamon sugar French toast sticks and crème brulee waffles.

The owners spent 18 months fine-tuning the aesthetics of the place to meet customer demand for a unique night out. They plan to add a private dining room on the second floor, which guests will be able to access directly from street level. JoAnne Klimovich Harrop is a TribLive reporter covering the region’s diverse culinary scene and unique homes. The restaurant is about providing memorable and delicious moments for everyday diners as well as guests who have something to celebrate, said Ritual House co-owner Herky Pollock, in a statement. The lemon dream has lemon cake, white chocolate cheesecake with lemon curd, lemon gastrique, and is topped with an almond lace. Executive chef Edwin Smith and pastry sous chef Zoe Peckich have brought their American cooking styles and modernized dishes with ingredients and techniques from around the world. The landmark building was was designed by noted Pittsburgh architect Frederick J. Osterling.

In 2014, The Davis Companies, a Boston developer with local roots, bought the Union Trust Building and invested $100 million in its restoration. Since founding the site in 2015, we have explored over 1,300 attractions, restaurants, bars/breweries, events, cool public spaces, and so many more things to do in Pittsburgh. Sweet and sour Brussels sprouts were a second appetizer for the night which, while having an expected sweetness, was perfectly balanced with a zippy acidity from the citrus that we appreciated. Grilled lamb chops will be served with rosemary thyme honey and mint chimichurri and a double cut pork chop topped with cherry bacon relish. The Chilean sea bass has smoky bacon miso, stir fry vegetables and pickled cucumber. Entrees include the Turkey Devonshire on sourdough, roast turkey breast, beefsteak tomatoes, mornay sauce, and candied pepper bacon.

Norway & Norwegian Fjord Cruises 2024 & 2025

norwegian fjords cruise 2024

However, the most common 7-day itineraries are short and include just one or two days in the fjords. Road trips through the fjord region are a popular option, but experiencing the fjords themselves from the water is hard to beat. From this vantage point, visitors can truly grasp the immense scale of these natural wonders while visiting small communities, all from the comfort provided by a floating luxury hotel. Thank you for visiting MSC Cruises

The historic Norwegian coastal route, established in 1893, continues to blend cargo transport, passenger ferry operations, and cruise experience. Given the range of options, selecting the ideal Norwegian fjord cruise is a real challenge. Both the cultural and natural value of the region have been recognized by UNESCO. The fjord region is one of the relatively few World Heritage Sites to be listed for both aspects.

Sustainable options are already appearing, such as the all-electric Flåm to Gudvangen passenger ferry that may be offered as a Nærøyfjord excursion by cruise ships that dock in Flåm. Embark on an unforgettable cruise to Norway aboard Celebrity Silhouette or Celebrity Reflection. Sailing from May to August, our Norwegian fjord cruises last anywhere from seven nights to nine nights. Longer itineraries give you the chance to see towns like the mountainous Flam or the remote Geiranger. On a Northern Europe cruise, you’ll overnight in Oslo on the way to cities like Copenhagen, Bruges, and Paris, or visit the capital before venturing to Sweden and Finland. The Norwegian Fjords is an astounding landscape made of many narrow deep seas, framed by dramatic mountainous land.

Balmoral offers a warm, civilised atmosphere and features comfortable accommodation, stylish restaurants and plenty of open-deck space. On your cruise to Norway, explore a fairytale landscape of cascading waterfalls, lush forests and rugged mountains that seemingly slide into the sea. From fly fishing and kayaking to hiking and more, this country truly is an outdoor playground with a diverse lineup of activities. The Norwegian concept of Friluftsliv translates as 'free air living', based on a deep connection with nature and spending time outside participating in outdoor activities.

From the towering mountains of Bergen to the dramatic waterfalls of Alesund, Norway is full of breathtaking surprises. Embark on one our Norwegian fjords cruises and marvel at the spectacular landscapes, verdant mountains, and gushing waterfalls that surround you. Watch as eagles soar in the blue skies above and whales and seals play in the deep waters. Your Norwegian Fjords cruise will give you the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the concept of friluftsliv; and embrace spending time outdoors, connecting with nature. From Olden, try your hand at catching your own crayfish in Nordfjord before cooking it on an open fire. Beautiful Balmoral is small enough to navigate Europe’s most picturesque waterways so guests can enjoy hours of scenic cruising.

Shore excursions are crafted to showcase the best of Norway, from private boat tours that take you deep into the fjords to guided hikes to see spectacular waterfalls. Tumbling waterfalls that you can almost touch, majestic mountains that seem to rise higher and higher, and oh-so serene waterways. And ‘Fjord’ is in fact an ancient Viking term related to the phrase ‘where you travel across’ and the word ‘ferry’ – so the fjords for centuries have been central to the story of sea travel.

The Norwegian fjords were created by moving glaciers over a period of 2.5 million years – Mother Nature certainly took her time to make these marvels. After a coach journey, your hike begins at Preikestolen, also known as Pulpit Rock. This dramatic natural rock formation has a 25m platform overlooking Lysefjord. Experience a variety of landscapes on your accent to this landmark where you can admire the views of the 26-mile-long fjord.

Journey through the Romsdalen Valley on the Rauma Railway, admiring towering mountains, plummeting waterfalls and sights such as the Kylingbru Bridge, Trollveggen Cliff and the emerald green Rauma River. There are some venues on each ship where dress codes don’t apply, so make sure to check your Horizon paper that’s delivered to your cabin each day to check where these are, as they vary ship by ship. For those travelling on family-friendly ships, dress codes also don’t apply to children aged 17 and under. If you want the maximum amount of daylight and sun, the summer months (June-August) are best, but if you seek the Northern Lights then book your holiday between October and March.

Rows of deep red, burnt orange, and white houses near Bryggen Wharf is one of the top sights in the city. Enjoy a romantic wharfside meal or a cozy coffee there before you visit Bryggens Museum or St. Mary’s Church. Ride a funicular rail to the summit of Mt. Fløyen for incredible panoramic views of the city below. Explore the surrounding fjords on an unforgettable kayaking or hiking adventure.

Depending on weather and sea conditions, the ferries may briefly visit Northern Norway’s Trollfjord too. All the coastal ferries (often called coastal cruise ships these days) make numerous but brief port calls to transport local passengers and cargo. But there is time to explore the bigger ports like Ålesund, Trondheim, and Tromsø, and excursions are offered in several more. Some cruises focus on visiting coastal cities such as Bergen, Ålesund, Stavanger, or Haugesund, with minimal fjord exploration beyond excursions. Others offer in-depth experiences of numerous fjords calling mainly at small communities.

The Norwegian fjords region of Norway remains firmly at the top of itinerary wish-lists for Scandinavian travel. Before embarking on your fjords cruise, experience all Copenhagen has to offer. With 250 miles of bike lanes, the city is ideal for touring and riding alongside its peaceful canals. Stroll along one of Europe's longest pedestrian-only shopping avenues, Strøget. Then visit some of Copenhagen’s historic sites including the 17th century Rosenborg Castle.

Cruises to Cozumel, Mexico

cozumel cruise tours

We snorkeled two reefs to see amazing marine life and the grand finale was a place called El Cielo, the most beautiful place in the world. Cruising is one of my favorite ways to travel, and these cruise ship excursions are sure to make it one of yours too. Any one of these are sure to give you an incredible adventure during your time in Cozumel. No, we do not recommend bringing your passport with you off the cruise ship when you are taking a shore excursion in Cozumel. Instead, we recommend taking photos of your passport with your phone, and keeping your passport in your room safe.

Playa San Martin Beach

Cool off with a michelada, made with beer and freshly squeezed lime juice over ice in a salt-rimmed glass. Or keep it traditional with Mexico’s signature spirit, tequila. At Chankanaab National Park, you’ll find everything from snorkeling and scuba to swimming with dolphins. Cozumel Shore Excursions specializes in Cruise ship tours, and we represent the best independent operators. Our experienced agents can help you get the most from your visit to the Island of Cozumel. We will make this the most enjoyable and memorable destination of your Caribbean Cruise.

Best Cozumel Excursions for Your Next Cruise Vacation

The park offers a unique experience where visitors can enjoy a traditional Prehispanic dance, which was an essential part of Mayan rituals and daily activities. But that's not all, you can also learn about traditional Mexican cuisine and even take part in making it. Afterward, indulge in some regional tacos with habanero chili sauces and take part in a chocolate, honey, and sauces tasting and seminar. Our first stop is a visit to one of the best beach clubs on the island.

Private Jeep & Snorkel Tour

This comprehensive tour invites you to journey back in time as you explore the ancient San Gervasio Mayan ruins, indulge in snorkeling adventures, beach club, & much more. Beach Access Is Limited Near the Cruise PiersWant to just head to the beach on your day in port? Unfortunately, the shore around the cruise piers is rocky and jagged. The “postcard” beaches are further down the island and on the eastern shore.

It’s always a good idea to check the weather forecast for the day of your excursion to ensure you’re prepared for any changes in weather conditions. You get a safety briefing before riding your ATV through the jungles of Cozumel. Depending on the season and weather this may be a muddy ride, so consider yourself forewarned! You stop at Jade Cavern where stalactites and bats hang from the ceiling, and you can swim in a cenote if you wish. You get paired up with your horse and then you take a leisurely stroll through the jungle, a farm, and finally on to the pristine white-sand beach.

Catch the big ones in Cozumel on a deep sea fishing charter excursion. El Cielo is one of the most iconic landmarks of Cozumel, it’s a beautiful natural reserve and sandbank. The tours should provide scuba gear but there might be something you can take here. There are several cave tours but the most popular is the Rio Secreto. Be advised, however, that this activity involves a challenging hike through a rather rugged jungle terrain that involves some climbing and passing through narrow paths. It’s best suited for a person in good shape and with zero mobility issues.

It offers great Mexican food, along with gorgeous views of the cruise ships in port. They also have free wi-fi if you need to connect to check on things back home. The perfect way to experience the beauty and culture of Cozumel.

If you’re going in the ocean, you need to have reef-safe sunscreen, meaning it does not contain Oxybenzone, Octinoxate, or Octocrylene, among other ingredients. Just because the label says “reef-safe” it does not mean that it is. Instead, opt for a mineral sunscreen, like Blue Lizard, Thinksport, or Sun Bum Mineral. If you want a unique way to explore Cozumel this trike sightseeing tour is for you. You start off with a quick driving lesson and then hit the road to see some of the best landmarks on the island. Visit the many neighborhoods that make up Cozumel and see the lifestyles of the local people...

The meeting point for cruise passengers is located directly next door from the Cruise Pier at the Motor Lobby of El Cid La Ceiba Hotel. So I strongly suggest you check the availability on your chosen day - RIGHT NOW – and then go ahead and book your seats before it's too late. What’s more, the general tourist area is not protected like the Marine Park, so there is a quite marked difference in the quality and quantity of the marine life.

The 9 lines zip line course is found at the Chankanaab eco-park. Ziplining is not the only activity you can enjoy here but also tube sliding, and laser tag. This family-friendly zone full of great activities is located just 20 minutes away from the cruise ship pier. Mr. SanchosWant to spend a day at the beach without having to worry about a thing?

All these transport vessels are readily available at the cruise terminal for rent. Between the reef system and the Mayan archeological sites in this port, you have enough reasons to have a blast in Cozumel. So, it’s only natural to be pleasantly overwhelmed when you learn that there is much more to see and do in Cozumel other than diving and exploring Mayan ruins.

As you walk through the colorful streets, you will also have the chance to learn about the rich history and traditions of Cozumel. You can visit iconic landmarks such as the San Miguel Church, which is a beautiful example of Mexican colonial architecture. One of the highlights of the park is learning about Xtabentún, a liquor considered to be the drink of the Mayan gods. Explore a recreated ancient Mayan market complete with shops offering locally-made products. As you have read, Cozumel is a tropical paradise full of ways to enjoy yourself.

Once there you have less than 1 hour to go through the ruins and explore the area before you start your journey back. However, it’s well worth it, as you will get to see a famous world heritage center. One of the best attractions in Cozumel is the Mayan Ruins in Tulum.

Every single one of these tours comes very highly rated, and we’ve even highlighted user reviews to help guide you in making your choice. The island of Cozumel, Mexico is a prominent Caribbean cruise port year-round! From October through April cruise lines can expect clear skies, low rainfall, and crystal-clear waters. Average high temperatures will hover in the low to mid-80s, with nighttime temperatures rarely dropping below 65 degrees. Between June and September, temperatures rise to the high 80s or low 90s, rainfall rates increase, and the water is wonderfully warm to swim in. One Piece Treasure Cruise celebrates sixth anniversary on Whole Cake Island

reddit one piece treasure cruise

To keep things at least somewhat feasible, we’ll name the characters in general - assume that this covers their evolutions and unique variants as well. So a character with one very good variant may not be ranked high, even if their one variant is extremely good, but won’t rank bottom based on their lackluster variants either. There’s also The Great Escape, where you must clear special missions within a certain number of turns which will present you with special rewards. However, the general layout of this team speaks to the fact that - if you play your cards right - you’ll likely end up with rarer recruits early on. If you’re a lore purist this may be a little off-putting, but when you get rare team characters that you can play or want to grind and farm earlier content there’s no reason not to break out of the Straw Hat team.

The main way to get characters in the game is by recruiting them in the Tavern. Acquiring more characters makes you stronger and allows you to try out various crew compositions. To keep up with the increasing difficulty of enemies, you will need to upgrade your heroes, come up with powerful combinations of characters, and gather resources and items. Finishing reward quests will give you a chance to unlock a cool new version of the Merry Go as well as 500x Rainbow Gems.

Special Mention - Partners

So, for example, when you play the tutorial you play as a child version of Luffy, and one of your first actions on starting the main story proper is to evolve Luffy into his iconic young adult version - straw hat and red vest included. That means that functionally you can knock a few thousand characters off that list, although you’ll still have a comfortably numbing amount to choose from. Throughout this adventure, your job will be to recruit pirates and other characters from the anime, assemble a strong crew, and take out enemies to progress in the story. You can even recruit some new variations of some of your favourite characters, including Trafalgar. This includes lower-tier generic characters, but as you can see in the next tier up, there are generic characters that have utility. However, characters in this tier rarely if ever are needed even for story missions.

Missions

Don’t forget to check out Rayleigh’s bazaar too, where you can exchange training points for various items, including characters. One Piece Treasure Cruise is an RPG hero collector mobile game, based on the anime One Piece by Bandai Namco. If you want to maximize your resource farming, then you should, of course, do requests like dailies every day. To further increase the power of your characters, you can upgrade your ship in the Shipyard. You start out at the beginning of Monkey D. Luffy’s journey to becoming the king of the pirates.

New players will get intimidated by it, and that's why there's a great need for the One Piece Treasure Cruise tier list. Not only that, but we’ve found that One Piece Treasure Cruise also has a promotional recruiting event for new players called the “Head Start Super-Sugo Fest”, which allows you to recruit rarer characters. However, this is only available for 72 hours after you first play, so theoretically you could reroll as normal and then utilise daily log-in bonuses from your first two days of play in order to roll on this headstart recruiting spin. Furthermore, the sixth anniversary Super Sugo-Fest allows you to have a 3x chance to recruit Sugo-Fest characters and receive one free 10+1 Rare Recruit per day during the whole event. One Piece Treasure Cruise has 3,000-plus characters to collect if you include all the variations available.

Crew Information

You can also acquire some characters in the game by completing content, including doing wanted posters, requests, etc. Meanwhile, there’s also a daily login bonus present for the whole event, giving you the chance to earn Rainbow Gems. Furthermore, if you have more characters leveled up and upgraded than the characters in your crew, try some of those in your setup as well because some characters perform well against certain enemies. Switching up the placement of the characters on your crew affects how your team performs, and sometimes that change is enough to get you through a level. Also, be sure to check your in-game mail often, as useful rewards and resources are sent to all players from time to time.

One Piece Treasure Cruise is a mobile (iOS and Android) game under development by Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc.

This makes a full character list almost impossible, especially as new characters tend to eclipse many older ones. To find the best-ranked OPTC characters, read on for our One Piece Treasure Cruise tier list. Thanks to nearly ten years of development and community engagement the One Piece Treasure Cruise fandom has put together a number of resources. Almost all characters that are present in gameplay are acquirable as playable characters. The only exception so far is Frieza, who was available in a past crossover event. Most characters also come in many different versions depending on what part of the manga they come from, or different promotional events.

Regional variants

Now, for a basic overview of how characters work; each character has an element, which is a pretty common mechanic in most Japanese games. These represent different attributes and how they’re strong or weak against another, to start off with you’ll want to prioritise getting your commonly unlocked characters levelled up, the Strawhat Pirates. They can be useful very early on if you want to boost your team’s damage but don’t rely on them as they’re not particularly useful in the long run. But, as for how to build your crew there’s a variety of methods, with complimentary abilities, specials and more. Characters relegated to this tier either have convoluted evolution paths, or simply not straightforward ones and lacklustre lower-rarity cards. They still have strong variants, but not necessarily as easily acquired, or worthwhile on their own as upper-tier characters.

Tips for New OPTC Players and Roadmap

Fortunately, with almost ten years of development and fandom growth under its belt (makes you feel old doesn’t it?) One Piece Treasure Cruise has a wealth (pun intended) of resources available. Check out sites like the One Piece Treasure Cruise wiki for a comprehensive overview of the currently available characters and notes on their utility. Generally, any generic tier character that’s part of a series is useless except if you’re literally just starting out, although even then you’re likely to roll at least one much better character before you leave the tutorial proper. Throughout the game, different ships can be acquired for use with the player's crews. You will stumble upon many unique characters in the game, so to give you a better understanding of them, here is an overview of some of their main features. On your journey, you’ll battle enemies, upgrade your crew, and explore the world while experiencing Luffy’s journey to becoming the king of the pirates.

Naturally, since these are fan resources we can’t guarantee they’ll always be correct, but given the mind-bogglingly huge variety of things to do in the One Piece Treasure Cruise, they’re a great place to get started. As for Gol D. Roger - he’s the king of the pirates, where else do you expect him to go? Right, in all seriousness his abilities of his default variation - causing true damage and ignoring any effects to the contrary - has earned many cries of OP, congruent with his rarity. Your team’s chances of beating an enemy team also depend on their placement of heroes, so be sure to try out different setups when you face a tough level.

In the game, you will build your very own crew of pirates and characters from the One Piece universe. Check out this trailer for the full rundown on what to expect from the sixth anniversary event. You’ll also be able to evolve Arlong further as you go, although the other Fishmen will likely need to be subbed out in order to make space for other characters as you progress. One Piece Treasure Cruise features an extensive roster of characters built up over its almost ten-year pedigree, featuring a variety of both obscure and famous fighters from across the Grand Line and New World for you to play.

The first way to obtain items is by completing levels in the campaign for rewards. Therefore, you should actively farm resources to make sure you can smoothly progress through the story. Like in any other hero collector, collecting resources is a must if you want to progress and grow stronger. Collecting new characters in ONE PIECE TREASURE CRUISE is a major part of the game.

Given the iconic nature of the series, Luffy, Nami, Zoro and the others are constantly receiving new unique variations. Not only that but since you acquire Luffy and the others to begin with, evolving them - and in some cases needing them for story progress - is basically your default progression path anyway. While 4000 characters sound impressive, there is a significant portion that can be discarded from our ranking. In this case the evolution and booster characters - such as the Crabs, Penguins, and Pigs. These are characters that are acquired solely to use for evolving your other characters or boosting their level and won’t factor into any team build. An attack is initiated by tapping any character in the lower part of the screen, and tapping other characters at the right time forms combos and deals extra damage.

This quest is not available until March 2, but it's coming around quicker than you think so be ready. Zorojuro and Rainbow Gems are among the rewards you'll have a chance to get as log-in rewards. Hopefully, with this guide, you can progress through the game smoother and better understand the game. The stats of your heroes, their levels, etc., will, of course, be the biggest factor when it comes to your chances of beating a level in ONE PIECE TREASURE CRUISE. One of the easiest ones that’ll yield great rewards over time is the log-in event, which gives you rewards based on how many days you’ve checked in, in a row. Taking advantage of events is another way to get resources in ONE PIECE TREASURE CRUISE.

CIRRUS SR22-G2 GTS Specifications, Cabin Dimensions, Performance

cruise speed cirrus sr22

The greater span improves the climb rate, decreases stall speed, and gives the SR22 really nice landing characteristics. I found the SR22 to be easier to land than the SR20, partly because it seems more stable on approach, but mostly because the larger wing provides more opportunity in ground effect to finesse the landing. With the SR22, I felt as if I could work the airplane more in ground effect, getting it to the point where it would chirp, chirp onto the runway every time. The SR22, certified in November 2000, is a more powerful version of the earlier SR20. The SR22 is a low-wing cantilever monoplane of composite construction, featuring fixed (non-retractable) tricycle landing gear with a castering nose wheel and steering via differential braking on the main wheels.

Check out the G6 and other fantastic single-engine airplanes in our latest Piston Singles Buyer’s Guide.

The Garmin 1000NXi-based Cirrus Perspective+ flight deck has everything a pilot could want in terms of functionality in its standard setup, and additional systems can be added to elevate the user experience. The entire aircraft is electric and is run by two alternators and batteries that are all independent from each other for redundancy and safety. Like all Cirrus single-engine aircraft, the SR22 is powered by a horizontally opposed, air-cooled, fuel-injected Continental 550 engine that has a total displacement of 552 cubic inches (9.05 l). The SR22 features an IO-550-N, while the turbocharged SR22T is powered by the dual turbocharged TSIO-550-K. If that’s true, and Cirrus generally plays it straight with its numbers, then that’s a huge increase, on the order of 5% of the plane’s top speed.

Landing distance ground roll

The total fuel cost will translate to $45,675 per year based on an annual flight time of 450 hours. The Cirrus SR22-G6 is jam-packed with features in its standard configuration, but Cirrus is known for luxury aircraft that go the extra mile both for passengers and pilots. The manufacturer offers five optional packages that customers add to their aircraft to improve performance and the flying experience. Despite the sobering asking price, Cirrus delivers a lot of airplane to buyers with qualifying bank accounts.

FLIGHT INTO KNOWN ICE

Cirrus shaved some weight from the interior materials but the fit, finish and creature comforts have never been better, in our view. It’s also a quiet cabin with limited amounts of engine vibe and plenty of personal space for crew and rear-seaters alike. With all of the options loaded on the SR22 I flew first, the “Eight Grand” series promised to take the experience up a notch. So, a couple of weeks following my trip to Knoxville, McIver brought the hard-to-miss N225HL up to Hagerstown (KHGR), Maryland, so my introduction to the latest SR could be complete.

The elevator trim operation is just like in any other airplane you've ever flown. The aileron trim takes a bit more getting used to, but is soon another tool to simplify your flying. Of course, if the situation gets out of control and you're more than a few hundred feet above ground level, you have the option of popping the unique Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS). As on the SR20, a pull of the T-handle on the cabin overhead deploys the SR22's rocket-powered parachute from the aft fuselage. The parachute lowers the aircraft at about 1,700 fpm — a rate likely to destroy the airplane, but save the passengers.

The opportunity to fly both the normally aspirated G6 as well as the turbo model (which the 8,000-series airplanes are) for this report gave me the chance to directly compare performance metrics between the two. Improvements in composite manufacturing have shaved off pounds from the empty weight of the SR20 and SR22 along the way. The glass-panel generation began in 2003, with the Avidyne Entegra suite in the SR22 G1—and transitioned pilots to the concept of a large-scale primary flight display. When Cirrus went to the G2 in 2004, both the SR20 and SR22 were equipped with the Entegra. The same is true for the yaw damper, which automatically comes on and off at 200 feet agl on departure and arrival, obviating the need for a yaw damper button on the Garmin GFC 700 autopilot control panel. Thanks to the improved processors and extra computer memory, Perspective+ also boots up much faster, panning and zooming is effortless, and the displays are crisper and more vibrant.

It is powered by a nose-mounted 310 hp (231 kW) Continental IO-550-N piston engine. The four-seat cabin is accessed through doors on both sides of the fuselage. To save some space, Cirrus designed a more compact and modern ignition system that’s fired via redundant electronic circuits. You can now pull that handle at 140 knots, increased from an old 133-knot deployment speed. The whole-airplane parachutes are still provided by BRS (Ballistic Recovery Systems) and require a mandatory 10-year repack interval. To accommodate the new gross weight increase, Cirrus beefed up the main spar, strengthened the landing gear and added extra layers of composites to the airframe.

The company does say, however, that “the new model’s ice panel transition seams are smoothed and wheel pant tolerances tightened to reduce drag.” Interference drag is low-hanging fruit, so good for them. The SR22T is certified to 25,000 feet, where it cruises at 213 knots true. After one brief level off, we climbed directly to 19,000 feet—where time-to-climb was approximately 40 minutes.

SR22-TRAC (Training Aircraft)

Cirrus has delivered seven SR22s and expects that about a third of the 650 aircraft in its backlog will end up as SR22s. The Wrights may have uncovered all of the important aeronautical magic, but with the SR22, the Cirrus team has brewed a powerful potion — one that appeals to pilots' desires to fly something that looks good and goes fast. The SR22 does both and in a level of comfort seldom seen in general aviation.

I opted for the latter to give me the chance to try out another new feature in Perspective+, the ability to select a visual approach to any runway from the procedures menu. A few button presses later and I was receiving ILS-like guidance cues that took us all the way to the runway threshold. Cirrus achieved the goal of finishing one airplane a day in December 2000.

Powered headset jacks and lighted USB-C ports at each passenger seat keep everyone connected and entertained while reducing cabin clutter. Graceful accent lights, illuminated cupholders, and clever storage create a convenient environment for everyone on board. Certified Flight into Known Ice (FIKI) is available on the leading edges of the wings and tail, providing the freedom to fly throughout the seasons. Perspective Touch+ touchscreen controllers provide quick access to every function. Cirrus also offers the Vision Inspired package, with tri-color paint work and other swagger that recognizes the Vision Jet that’s currently in development. Buy one of these special SR22 models and you’re recognized as a special member of the Cirrus family—earning a discount on a Vision Jet order slot—a project we’re watching closely.

I found it interesting to learn that the lights come on automatically when you press the key fob to unlock the doors and stay on until after takeoff passing through 200 feet agl. The lights then turn on automatically on descent for landing at 200 feet. Also included with the lighting package are courtesy lights in the baggage compartment and a downwash light on each step behind the wing. My introduction to the G6 SR22 included a half-dozen flights over the span of three days in mid-December. By now the secret is out and the G6 is the talk of the Cirrus-owner community — but at that time flying the new model required stealth since it was among the most closely guarded secrets in all of general aviation.

The rear baggage area can accommodate 130 pounds of whatever you can stuff in. To be sure, this overall utility is unmatched by few if any other four-place singles. I contemplated the complexity that the underlying system required in order to create a simple power interface that reduces workload. And yet, Cirrus made the decision to give the pilot the task of actually adjusting the mixture. I’ve concluded that it’s because pilots just need something to fiddle with, rather than for any big performance or efficiency reasons.

And really, that’s what an airplane like the SR22 does best — offers up amazing experiences that enrich its owners’ lives while enabling them to accomplish more with their limited time. The G6 is the finest Cirrus piston airplane yet, and my guess is demand will remain strong for the new model even with the SF50 Vision Jet now certified. After all, the SR22 is an ideal airplane for a great many missions, not to mention a perfect step-up airplane to the Vision Jet. An hour or so later, we bid Bruce and Jim farewell and selected a course northward. The original plan had been to fly back to New Jersey, but the Cirrus was needed in Knoxville, Tennessee, the home of the newly christened Cirrus customer delivery center, for an oil change and more demo flights.

Discover the Enchanting World of Pearl Hair Gems

Pearl hair gems are small, decorative pieces of jewelry that are used to adorn the hair. They are typically made of pearls, but can also be made of other materials, such as glass, metal, or plastic. Pearl hair gems can be used to add a touch of glamour or elegance to any hairstyle, and they are a popular choice for special occasions, such as weddings or proms.

There are many different ways to wear pearl hair gems. They can be pinned into the hair, woven into braids, or used to create headbands or other hair accessories. Pearl hair gems can also be used to decorate updos, such as buns or chignons.
